Dean is a Consulting Principal who specialises in workplace law, industrial relations and safety.
After graduating with distinction from the University of Technology, Sydney in 2013, Dean worked at a national specialist employment relations firm. He then joined Keypoint Law in 2015 and has worked closely with other Consulting Principals to build a leading and highly distinguished workplace law practice.
Dean works across all practice areas in the employment and industrial relations space and has gained extensive experience on a number of complex matters including: drafting executive service contracts; enterprise agreements and workplace policies; advising and litigating restraint of trade issues; union disputes; work health and safety audits and prosecutions; modern award interpretation; employee incentive schemes; performance management; restructuring; modern award compliance audits and due diligences; corporate governance; sensitive terminations; equal opportunity claims and employment litigation generally.
Dean’s client base is broad ranging. He acts for high net worth individuals and both ASX listed and private companies across a number of industries including in construction and manufacturing, banking and financial services, technology, trade services, real estate, agriculture and in the retail sector. The most important element of Dean’s practice is his strong and responsive customer service approach with an ability to find legal solutions that achieve the commercial objectives of his clients.
Dean was shortlisted as a finalist in the Lawyers Weekly 30 under 30 Awards for Workplace Relations, Employment and Safety for three consecutive years (2017 – 2019), and was fortunate to have won this prestigious award in 2018. Dean was also recognised in 2018 in the Australian Law Awards as a finalist in the categories of Rising Star of the Year and Senior Associate of the Year.
Dean’s team was shortlisted as a finalist in 2020 in the Australian Law Awards for the category of Workplace Relations and Employment Law Team of the Year.
