‘Women to Watch’ – Australasian Lawyer, Issue 2.2, April 2015

Keypoint Law is pleased to announce that two of its Consulting Principals, Justine Toohey and Lora Shaw, have been included as “Experts in their field” in Australasian Lawyers “Women to Watch”.

This list profiles 50 female lawyers who are “making their mark on the Australian and New Zealand legal markets”.

Extracts from the publication follow:

Toohey is an experienced environmental and native title lawyer, who has represented traditional owners on some of Australia’s largest and most significant natural resource infrastructure projects.  She acted on the $1.5b native title, cultural heritage and State agreements for the Browse LNG Precinct; on the expansion of the Ord Stage 2 irrigated agricultural development; on the Heritage Assessment of 19,000 kilometres of land and sea in the Kimberley, and on sustainable carbon farming in Australia’s northern savannahs.  Justine has an exceptional track record of negotiating successful outcomes on northern Australia’s major projects.

Shaw heads Keypoint’s Government Practice and specialises in advising Commonwealth agencies on major ICT projects, procurement contracts and information governance.  She acted for the Department of Defence on its multi-billion dollar procurements of Terrestrial Communications and Centralised Processing Services.  She also advised the Department of Human Services and the Australian Taxation Office on privacy and data protection for two of the highest profile projects undertaken by those agencies in recent times, myGov and myTax.”

Keypoint’s model allows Lora and Justine to work without the constraints of billable hour targets or rigid price structures, enabling them to develop deeper relationships with their clients and provide services tailored to the client’s needs.
