SYDNEY. Keypoint Law has been placed on the 2014 Legal Innovation Index in recognition of its initiatives to deliver uniqueness and value to its clients, as well as to its lawyers.

In response to the rapidly changing face of the legal industry, LexisNexis® Pacific and Janders Dean, launched the Australian and New Zealand annual Legal Innovation Index for the legal industry in 2013. This year’s Index comprises: Keypoint Law, Clearpoint Counsel, Hive Legal, Legal Vision, Nest Legal and the Nexus Law Group.

Receiving a highly commended award are Australia’s Coote Family Lawyers, JRT Partnership, KWS Legal, Turnbull Hill Lawyers and New Zealand’s Chen Palmer and Simmonds Stewart.

Steven Hallam, Deloitte Digital partner, was very impressed with the calibre of this year’s entries.

“It was really pleasing to see all the different ways that entrants are innovating their business models to respond to digital disruption. Entrants are taking advantage of trends such as cloud, mobile, analytics, social, micro-tasking and crowd sourcing which is having a tangible impact on both the client and employee experience,” says Mr Hallam.

Firms and in-house legal teams were assessed on their holistic approach to innovation based on knowledge sharing, cost and time management, client service delivery and employee engagement, amongst other criteria.

“Congratulation to this very deserving Index inductee”, adds Dr Marc K Peter, Chief Operating Officer of LexisNexis Pacific. “Lawyers across the board are under pressure to deliver a better client experience with less resources and in an increasingly competitive and commoditised marketplace. The breadth of entries we received this year showcasing excellent originality and creativity across all areas of the business is a great response by the industry to the current environment.”

“The inaugural Legal Innovation Index in 2013 set the benchmark very high,” explains Justin North, Director, Janders Dean, “but this year’s participants have certainly risen to that challenge and met that standard of excellence. We are delighted with the response from the legal community and the fantastic projects we got to review.”

The prestigious panel of judges included: Michael Roch (Kerma), Steven Hallam (Deloitte), Karan White (Pod Legal), Melissa Davis (MD Communications), Denise Farmer (LexisNexis) and Justin North (Janders Dean).
